The Magic Mountain Music Festival on Mt. Tamalpais in Mill Valley, California June 3 & 4, 1967

As you can see there were 2 stages; a main stage and a smaller stage. This festival ran for 2 days on a Saturday and Sunday. I don't remember which bands were on which days. I did go both days. One day The Sons opened the main stage, the other day was really a surprise : The Fifth Dimension! They were great by the way. You couldn't drive to the amphitheater, you had to get a shuttle bus from the Marin Co. Civic Center. I'd imagine this was The Doors first really big show. They were amazing. The Seeds had a song in the charts at the time and were good too. The Byrds brought along Hugh Masekla on trumpet. I seem to remember he played on a few songs besides just "So You Want To Be A Rock'N'Roll Star".

Sun Ra at College of Marin (CA) 1969

Always one of my favorites, Sun Ra had a great band. There were maybe more musicians on stage that night than paid members of the audience but it was still a great show.
